YAPS Message to you!
All animals deserve be treated with respect and dignity.
Please look after us.
Quality of life for all animals is very important .. this involves providing exercise .. human contact .. socializing .. education and stimulation of minds with things like games and toys.
Exercise your pets
Also allowing them to experience the world outside as often as possible .. it's their world too!!
Love your pets
The provision of the best quality of food as possible.
Yummy!
Always leave lots of water for your animals .. animals can die very quickly without water .. especially if they live in the hotter climates.
I am so thirsty!
All animals be provided with a healthy .. hygienic .. comfortable and safe environment to live in.
Home is where your kennel is.
Each individual animals needs must be met .. some animals have had horrific experiences and need to be given extra love and attention.
Do not do this to someone you love
Doing all these things will help the animals learn that the world can be a safe and loving place to be in.
Love mends broken hearts
There is a great need for people to be educated towards developing an understanding and respect for all animal life. Educate your family

Educate the Children
EDUCATING THE PUBLIC
and
OUR KIDS:
This section is to help the public learn a little more about Yaps and our animals .. we invite all Schools .. Clubs .. Social and Senior Citizen Groups to ask someone from Yaps to come and speak to their people about what we do for our community.
IMPORTANT WARNING:
This picture hopefully will teach all adults that children must be supervised when nursing or playing with any baby animals. This little puppy was dropped .. only on his leg and luckily not his head or the puppy could have died. Children should be sitting and not walking around when nursing small animals.
Poor little puppy
Please contact Yaps and make arrangements for one of our staff to drop in .. we can bring along a few of our Animal Family to meet you also!

Holloways Beach Respite Group are a wonderful group that arranged to meet YAPS staff and animal family .. the group brought food and treats for the animals spreading love and cuddles for hours through all the kennels.

Yaps were very proud when they were asked by the ---- to come and speak to the grade 10 and 11 high school kids about what Yaps do and how they do it .. Carol went along and spoke on behalf of Yaps .. the main points were of course the cruelty of animals and why more people do not report it .. also the procedure that every pet gets on arrival at YAPS and the love given to all the animal that come into their care .. some can wait as long as 12 months to find the right home.

We had a great time at school with the kids!
Bear is off to School

Bear and Kobi were off to school to tell the Bently Kids about YAPS .. they want all the kids to know about YAPS and how they were rescued and became YAPS kids .. they want every one to know that there are too many of their mates getting hurt by humans.
Koby loves being at school
Carol (their mum) who is part of YAPS Mangement Committee .. says in a loud voice on behalf of Bear and Kobi and their mates .. That everyone is responible for the treatment of all animals and if you have seen or know of a pet that is being cruely treated in any way .. then REPORT IT .. so the animal can be rescued and rehomed safely into loving families.

St Francis Xavier School

Denise is a volunteer worker at YAPS .. she went out to talk to Class 6 of St Francis Xavier School .. Denise spoke to the class about being a responsible pet owner and told them what role YAPS takes on in the community in caring for the abandoned animals.
St Franics School
Class 6 were so glad to see first hand what YAPS do to help the homeless animals .. they quickly decided to do a collection of cat and dog food as well as raise money for YAPS .. this was done very successfully so it was on the bus and out to YAPS to deliver their goods .. Class 6 spent the morning walking dogs .. playing with the kittens and cats and brushing the animals.
St Franics School
A very big Thank You to Class 6 of St Francis Xavier School for the fantastic effort to help out all our animals. YAPS had a very quiet afternoon as all the animals had a nap after all their walks.
