Hi Carol and Yaps Staff
I just wanted to write you a quick note to say thank you and to let you know that Coco .. who we adopted a couple of weeks ago ..
is just the perfect dog for our family .. she has settled in extremely well and hasn't tried to dig or climb or escape in any way .. she is so loyal to us already and we just can not imagine being without her now .. I thought I would attach a photo to show you how happy and relaxed she has found herself!!

I adopted Barron from Yaps in 2007 .. I am sending some pictures and a note from Barron.

Hi my name is Barron .. I am a 10 months old staffy and I was a YAPS dog for a short time until I was adopted .. my new mom first spotted me on the Yaps website and it was love at first sight for us both when we first met .. the day she came to see me was the best day for me because I just wanted to go with her there and then .. of course I was well behaved to start as I wanted to show her how good my manners were and how well behaved I could be .. so I received lots of cuddles and kisses and even lay on her lap in the big chair while we watched television that night .. boy oh boy did I pull the wool over her eyes that first day.

The next day mum didn't want to let me out while the lawn was being mowed so she left me inside .. I could see her through the windows but she couldn't see me .. I wanted to go out and be with her so much .. she could not hear me through the loud noise of the lawnmower so I thought I would try and make the house more cosy .. I thought she would be pleased when she came back inside .. Oh Boy .. I was so wrong.

In my re-arranging our home I decided to tear all the dinning chair foam cushions apart .. I then went into the family room and sniffed around a bit .. first .. I decided to shape the large foam cushion on the big chair in the corner .. I actually did a good job of that one .. my mum collects vintage porcelain and unusual dolls and I swear to this day that a couple of them called to me and maybe even winked at me .. unfortunately things got out of hand a bit and somehow the hair was ripped from those dolls heads and without knowing I accidentally bit their fingers off as well .. wow .. wow .. wow what a mess they left everywhere.

When my mum came inside to check on me she had a blank stare on her face and her mouth fell open a bit like mine does sometimes .. well she did not have to say a word to me at all .. I had a felling she was not happy so decided it was time for me to go to bed for a couple of hours .. for some reason she kept staring at me with glassy eyes when she was cleaning the mess up .. she kept saying it was a Blinkin' Big Mess .. maybe not those exact words but I got the message .. Mum's not happy at all .. now I know I can not get away with much at all.

I have a great fenced yard but my mum had to fence the side of the house so I can stay in the backyard when she has to go out for a short time .. she works from home so its great to have her around to play with me. The first fence gate they built at the side was 5 foot high and when they finished my mum went out to the car and called for me to go for a drive with her .. well I wasn't going to let that fence get in my way so after a few attempts of jumping I finally pulled myself over .. it was tough trying to jump so high but I decided she wasn't going for a drive without me. Now they are building a 8 foot fence and I have been inspecting it daily to make sure they build it properly.

My favourite place is to sit on my recliner chair .. it was mums but after sitting on her all the time she decided it might be better if I have it so she covered it for me in a bright floral print .. Yuk, not so cool for a boy but its comfortable .. I have many toys and show my mum every day how I can just shred them into many pieces .. but im not allowed to do that inside our house anymore .. my favourite toy is my baby that I take to bed .. its a funny little stuffed bear with a green suit .. I didnt like its nose so I got rid of that and now its perfect.
I have a big responsibility now protecting our home and I growl if I think someone is around late at night.

One night I found my ball and was playing with it in my bed at midnight and my mum came out and took it from me and said I could not play with it as I was supposed to be asleep .. so she put it in her bedroom .. I lay in my bed so upset for a couple of hours and when I thought she was asleep I went into her room and sniffed around until I found the ball on her bed side table and very quietly I leaned over to get it .. being ever so careful not to knock anything over or to wake her .. I took it back to my bed but didn't play with it as I know she would have taken it again.

Being at Yaps was so cool .. I loved all the affection I received from the staff and volunteers and my mum told me that if she ever has to go away for any reason that I will go back to Yaps for a visit .. I know they will remember me there because I was the cute .. well behaved one.
Well that's my story .. I am happy .. content and loved very much by my mom .. my one wish is for all the animals at YAPs to find a wonderful family and home like I did.

A Great Staffy Success Story

Forget it .. I'm only visiting!
Toby came back out to YAPS to get some stitchers out (2006) .. he made sure his new Mum and Dad stayed close by .. he wasn't stopping here again .. You lot at Yaps are OK but me new Mum and Dad are better and I'm going home!
