Dottie  and  Charlie

Dottie
Charlie

Hello all the people at YAPS
This is just a short note to give you all some pictures of Charlie and Dottie the cat.

We adopted Dottie around a year ago (2008) and she is a real character .. she loves her cuddles but she really tells you when she has had enough.

Charlie we adopted about 2 weeks ago (May 2009) and he has been a real joy for all of us but a great companion for my partner Eddie as one of the photo shows .. he loves his food and really loves to sleep.

We also have 2 other dogs and he gets along great with them .. they have both been wonderful additions to our family.

Thank you everyone
Eddie .. Michele .. Cheney and Isabelle

Balto
Hi all at Yaps!!
Beautiful Balto
Balto
A quick update on Balto who we adopted on May 8th 2009 .. we have kept his name as it just seems to suit him .. he has settled in really well and now he pretty much rules the household.

He can be a bit cheeky because he loves to chew on his new mum but his new favourite hobby is opening coconuts! His toilet training is going well and he barks when people come to the door or when the brush turkeys wander through the backyard.

Balto is learning to walk on the lead (he hates it) but he will get better at it everyday. He loves going to the beach and running and splashing in the little waves but still a bit frightened of swimming in the deep water.

He is eating really well and has his choice of 3 beds to sleep in and loves a cuddle in bed in the mornings.

We love having him here and he has a great extended family who adore him .. we will keep you updated on his progress and keep up the good work at Yaps.

Lots of love
From Balto .. Ed and Kylie

Smithy

Hi all this is Smithy's new home
Just letting you all know how Smithy is settiling in after two weeks (early May 2009) .. he spends most of his time laying outside the back door waiting for myself or Travis to come outside.

Shade and Smithy like to play a lot together and their favorite game is tag with our poor cat Bella .. I think Bella is more fitter since Smithy joined our household.

Travis built a new dog house for them today so Smithy and Shade get to sleep in comfort in the cold nights ahead .. Smithy's first trip to our family vet was a bit sad for him .. he did not like the needles or the poor vet nurse .. it took me 10 minutes to get him to come to me again those big brown eyes staring at me asking - WHY?

Smithy has taken over guarding the house very well .. letting both Travis and I know when someone is too close to the house .. Smithy likes watching TV .. he loves the Simpsons lol .. he is very protective of me in a good way barking at Travis's friends who come over .. Smithy figures that him and Travis are the only boys allowed around us girls.

So all in all he has settled in nicely unfortunetly the same could not be said for the cats favorite toy which we found in piece's hanging from Shade and Smithy's mouth .. so thanks Yaps for compleating our family with this great dog Smithy.

From the Lock farm
Kellie .. Travis .. Smithy and Shade .. poor Bella could not be found to comment lol

Millie

Dear wonderful people at YAPS
Millie is very happy and has her tail up wagging now .. she is definitely not as timid as she was when we first got her on the 23rd Janruary 2009.

Millie loves walking on a lead and is no longer doing the crawl .. she is doing well at dog obedience .. we think she is more Ridgeback than Staffy.

She is using the doggie door and 100% toilet trained now .. Millie has not tried to run away as yet .. she is not chewing too much just 1 mat and that is it !

Craig and I absolutely love her .. we are taking her for 2 walks a day like you said .. thank you so much for introducing Millie to us as we are now a very happy family.

Thank you
Craig and Nadine

Otto   (Storm)

Dear YAPS
I wanted to say thank you so much for bringing Otto into my life .. he was known as Storm at YAPS and I adopted him in April 2009 .. he has been such a joy and a source of constant amusement and cuddles.

He settled into his new home incredibly easily and is eating well (possibly too well!) and has fully embraced his new routine .. my heart sings when I arrive home to be greeted by his soft meows and sleepy eyes .. there is no love greater than that of an adored pet.

When I wake up in the morning he is sleeping beside me .. he stirs as soon as he can feel I am awake and then puts his paw on my face as if to say Good morning - I love you.
Otto
Otto now has his own Facebook page and is rapidly accumulating cat friends and sharing his experiences .. you can find him by doing a search on Facebook by his name Otto Oakley-Mack.

You can all be guaranteed that Otto will have a great life and we will never forget the caring and wonderful people at YAPS that helped him find a new life and new love.

Thank you for everything you do .. you are inspirational .. sending a photo of his majesty attached .. note his legs out behind him in a frogs leg pose .. he is a nut.

Love
Jas and Otto

Mia   (Nikki)

Hi Carol
My name is Jade and I adopted a pup called Nikki from YAPS back on the 8th November 2008 .. she took a couple of days to settle in and then began to adventure into her surroundings .. her personality started coming out more and more everyday and became very loving happy pup.

We call her Mia and she is just beautiful .. Mia is 6 months old now and has been an excellent puppy and still as beautiful as ever .. the last 3 days however she has stopped eating and today resisted drinking any water .. we have tried to give her weet-bix as an alternative as the weight is dropping off her very quickly.

Mia does not seem herself and is not eating or drinking .. she has also thrown up once today .. I will be taking her to the vet on Monday and will get a house call tomorrow if I feel its really needed.

I was just wondering however what you may think could be wrong or if there was anything that possibly ran through her blood line (if known) that may have an effect on her.

Thanks alot
Jade

Molly   (Jonquil)

Hello to the wonderful staff of YAPS
These pictures of our adorable who came into our lives on 11th March 2009 with a rather timid disposition.

I am sure Denise will now be re-assured that Molly has settled in with us very quickly .. nothing in her new domain has escaped her investigation and she loves all her toys and especially enjoys having her tummy rubbed.

Which shows her complete trust .. because all our previous 3 cats had long lives (16,18,15 years old) .. we had forgotten what a joy having a lively kitten in the house is like .. thank you for giving us this pleasure.

Thank You and keep up your amazing work
Jan .. Collin and Molly

Takhisis   (LouLou)

Hi there
LouLou who is now known as Takhisis is fitting in very well here and has made fast friends with our other kitty Toki .. in fact she likes to boss him around a lot but he does not seem to mind a bit.

She just loves our giant scratching post which goes all the way to the roof and has learned that if she jumps from the 4th tier she can make it right across to the couches and land comfortably .. usually right on top of Toki.

She is a very cuddly little girl and everyone is very much in love with her .. thank you for pointing her out to us since she was hiding when we came to visit .. I do not know what we'd do without her now.

Sugar   (Keno)

Hi Guys
Ever since adopting little Sugar we have been happy with her .. she has been a real good kitten and we are glad we had the opportunity to bring her home with us.

I have nothing but praise for the staff at Y.A.P.S. with their continuing work for the care of orphaned cats and dogs .. if only we had the space for more than one cat .. otherwise I think we would have adopted her little brother and sisters as well.

Once again Thanks Guys
Aaron
