Bentley

Hi YAPS
We adopted Bentley the kitten and just wanted to let you know that he is doing wonderfully.

We have renamed him Nelson as we already have a Bentley .. he is sweet natured .. cuddly .. playful and ALWAYS hungry.

We love him to bits and he fits in perfectly with our other cat and our 2 puppies .. I have attached a piccy .. it is a bit difficult to see him as he is on a pillow that is the same colour as him.

Anyway thanks for making it so easy to adopt him .. you guys are doing a great thing.

Hitchi

Hello to the Yaps Staff!
I am sorry it took us so long to send some photos and word about Hitchi .. our timid little lady has blossomed into a fun loving very active girl.

She loves going for walks and thanks to everyone who looked after her at Yaps she walks beautifully on the lead .. the photos we have attached are Hitchi and her friend Jasper who are getting to know each other.

Jasper is 12 and definately the boss .. Hitchi wakes her up each morning at 5.30 to have a play but apparently when you are of a certain age you are allowed to say no sometimes according to Jasper .. photo is the two dogs asleep after their getting to know you session ..
Hitchi and Jasper
Hitchi has enjoyed her trips to the beach and to the esplanade and is now happy to have the neighbours come and visit her even if we are not at home .. so company is never far away for our pretty lady.

Hitchi is now relaxed around any men that come to visit .. work men .. family and visitors .. she is a wonderful door alarm letting us know if someone is coming but is quick to accept them when we introduce the person or tell her enough.

Hitchi is very willing to please and is a wonderful part of our family.

Thank you very much for introducing Hitchi to us.

Trinity  (Spencer)

Hello dear people at YAPS
About the end June/beginning July 2010 we adopted a champagne Ginger Tabby you called Spencer .. we have changed his name to Trinity which we have shortened to Trinny.

Trinny is quite a little man .. when my Husband goes away to work for a few days at a time Trinny takes over and never ever leaves me .. instead of jumping on and off the bed all night .. he lays perfectly still in my husband’s vacant place or between our two woofers (Annabel and William).
Trinity
I find this interesting because he adores Tom and seems to think he is bound to care for me as Tom does .. when we first brought him home he was ultra-fussy regarding his food

Trinity now he enjoys a hugely varied diet and has shown a great yearning for a lick of ice-cream off my finger about noon .. if he does not get it he sits in front of the freezer door at politely yells!

YAPS we thank you for the care and great love you give freely to the innocent .. knowing at times you must feel sadness and pain.

UPDATE December 2010:
Trinny

Hello Dear YAPS People
My name is Trinity Palmer Cordingley .. you very kindly looked after me after I was found at Trinity Beach .. last June Tom and Magda Cordingley visited YAPS and asked if I would join their family to which I replied Yes Please.

Attached is a photo of me with my sister Annabel (black dog) and my brother William (golden dog) .. Annie .. Billy and I play together in the garden where we run around trees and hide in bushes.

As you can see I am very handsome and a boy who truly loves cuddling.

Thank you Yaps .. at Xmas we are bringing you a pressie when Magda drives me to visit and show you how big I have grown but only to visit cos I have truly found my forever home and will never leave it.

See you at Xmas 2010
Trinny Cordingley

UPDATE June 2111:
Melody AKA Crumpet

Hello Dear People at YAPS
You looked after me then found me a new home where I’m ever so happy.
I’m a ten year old, tiny, tortishell Queen. Nobody knew my name so you at YAPS called me “Crumpet”.

I was adopted by Magda and Tom 21st April 2011 who renamed me Melody.

Thought you would like a photo of me and my brother- Trinny-(he’s the big fluffy guy) sitting on the veranda as we do every day except when it’s raining. Trinny came from YAPS too, Magda & Tom adopted him 17th June 2010. I also have another brother and a sister who are two big dogs-Annabel and William.

When I first came to live at Mooroobool, Annie was very gentle and she helped Magda mother me. But secretly I’ve fallen in love with Tom and every night I sleep either beside him or curl up between Magda & Tom.

I’m not frightened anymore because my brothers and sisters love me and are very gentle. I’m looking quite beautiful as you can see in the photo. My hair is shining, my eyes are clear and I have stopped scratching. I think I had some nervous conditions, but now they are all gone.

Thank you YAPS special carers for giving me the home I’ve always dreamed of.

I wish you everything you wish for yourselves,

Melody

Achilles
Achilles

Hello Dorothy and all my friends at YAPS
Hi this is Achilles here .. just letting you know my life is fine .. as you know I was adopted by Jim and Linda recently and to tell the truth I was a bit apprehensive of the change .. especially when they would not let me sit in the passenger seat of the car for the ride to their place .. That's where I always sat with my original owner.

We arrived at their place and guess what it is almost a hectare big with lots of space to run around and also there was already another dog there that I could play with .. her name is Verity .. she is a 18 month old purebred Rottweiler.

She is a lot of fun top play with but there is no way she can catch me running .. Verity sometimes thinks her social standing as a purebred allows her to be superior .. there is still a little bit of negotiation about precedence going on but she will eventually realise that I am a boy and she is only a girl.

I have attached a photo that you might like .. I am very happy here and think that I will stay with these owners .. my regards to you all and all the dogs and cats out there and thank you very much for looking after me so well and finding me a beaut new home.

Lots of love
Achilles .. Jim and Linda .. Verity too

Radar
Radar my deaf dog!

Hi YAPS
I just wanting to update you with how Radar has been going .. so far he has fitted into our family very well .. currently he is the final stage of obedience training and he one of the few dogs top of the class so being deaf has not stopped him.

Yes it has been frustrating when he does not listen but being patient and giving him time truly has paid off .. he loves water and swims his little heart out when we go to Ross/Locke or to the farm.

His best friend Ralphie never goes far without Radar in tow .. I was never worried about him being deaf as he is my little mate and I would not trade him for anything!

Thanks again you guys out there who do so much special work .. I have added some photos of Radar so you can have a look at!

For anyone wanting to adopt a deaf dog .. patience is the key and to treat him/her like any other dog .. but it is very worthwhile and rewarding!

Thank You
Brianna .. Tim .. Ralphie and RADAR

Jess Jess  (Dijah)

G’day everyone at YAPS
It’s understandable that now Jess would have had trouble adjusting to living behind a fence in a small back yard.

Jess i does not like being fenced in .. she now lives on a farm and is enjoying the space and freedom .. she loves to chase birds luckily she does not catch any.

She has quickly bonded with her new family. Jess is very intelligent and loyal .. Thanks to everyone at yaps for looking after her and all the other animals.

Cade

Dear Yaps Staff
We would just like to update you on Cade our black Burmese Cat .. we got him from Yaps near Christmas time 2005.

It was my wifes idea .. she wanted a pet or a tattoo .. I said a cat! .. somehow she get both .. my wife Natalie and I remember picking him out of the kitten run .. I played with some and this black kitten bit me.

My comment was .. Not getting that little bugger! .. so we played with some others and picked one out and paid the adoption fee .. put him in a box and bought cat stuff on way home.

That was when my wife informed me that the cat I picked was the original one I said we were not getting .. Ha! Ha! .. any way we would not be without him.
Cade
Cade still loves his Woree home .. we live in small unit complex .. he visit's the 10 other neighbours in the complex and stops inside some people's unit for a pat.

When we first got Cade we tried to keep him inside but he got too aggressive .. so mostly he is free to go out in the day (cat flap door) .. however he tends to sleep in our bed or on the couch at night or on the balcony off the bedroom.

Cade also likes to greet me at the door after work and when I leave the bedroom in the morning he follows too .. if I walk out to the mailbox he likes to walk with me.

Anyway thanks Yaps we love him.

Duke
Duke   (Caesar)
written November 2008

Hi there everyone at Yaps
I am just writing to you to give you all an update on our wonderful dog Duke formerly Caesar .. he is a very lovely boy .. sweet .. affectionate and sensitive .. he likes to please us so has been very easy to train (so far!) .. he walks well on the lead.
Duke
Duke comes when he is called .. sits .. speaks and lies down when asked .. he even waits for his dinner.

He has several girlfriends and mates .. there is a Bull Mastiff X Bull Arab a few houses down called Molly and she is about a month older than Duke .. we get together in the afternoons and let them play and they are so good together .. they play in exactly the same manner .. a bit like wrestling.

The next door neighbours have two labs and the one year old female and Duke get along so well that they were digging tunnels under the fence to get to each other .. well that was until the neighbours put down some netting and I put down some big river rock to foil their plans.
Duke
I must say I wish there was a way for them to get together and play without making such a massive mess .. he is definitely going to be big maybe even huge as you can see in the photos .. we absolutely love him and he gets heaps of attention .. so thanks heaps .. we may even be able to foster a dog sometime over xmas .. I am sure Duke sure won’t mind!!

OK then .. hope you guys are doing OK out there
Lisa

Update August 2010

Duke

Duke
Hi Guys
Just wanted to send you some photos of Duke who we adopted from YAPS in September 2008!

He now has a best doggy friend who we got last year in October 2009 .. they have a ball and love each other so much .. her name is Luna and she is taller than him!!!

The cross of a Bull Arab and Bull Mastiff that Duke is (we think) a fabulous mixture .. he is so gentle and kind and loving.

Duke absolutely needs his walks on the beach everyday .. it is his favourite thing and he certainly gets them!

Thanks Again
Lisa .. Duke and Luna
