Lexie (Lanny)
Hello all the wonderful caring Staff of Yaps
Just a quick update on Lanny as you all seemed to be quite attatched to her .. it was hard to take her away from you when we saw how much you all adored her.
But that was one of the things that sold us on her .. we knew she had to have a sweet nature when you were all so soft on her.
We have changed her name .. we did really like Lanny and almost kept it but with our eldest daughter being Sharni .. they were a bit too close in sound .. so we changed it to Lexie and as it is not a big change .. she has adapted to it quickly.
We were very suprised about how quickly Lexie has adapted and settled in to life here with us .. we expected her to show more sign of missing her brother Leroy (has he found a home yet?) and all the other company/dogs etc at Yaps as Lexie had been there for a few months.
Because most of her young life had been spent there with you, we did find it took her a few days to get used to the freedom of the wide open spaces.
She stuck very close the first few days but now we find her exploring more .. Lexie is very easy to train and is responding quickly .. but does have a little stubborn streak at times.
Lexie is very affectionate and we now feel in week 3 that she may really be starting to attatch to us. She quickly adapted and accepted the home and property and has always been comfortable and seemed happy enough with us.
But we now find Lexie is really starting to seek us out etc; whereas before she was happy enough to stick to herself .. she is great with the kids and all of us are crazy about her .. we just hope Lexie is really as happy here as she seems.
Lexie has filled out already .. you told us she does not eat much and for the first few days that was the case but the last 2 weeks her appetite has noticeable increased.
Her cough seems much better .. we hardly notice it but occassionaly Lexie does seem to have a cough and sneeze again.
In one of the photos you will notice a raw patch on Lexie's nose .. we have given her a couple of bones and I guess this was new for her and she would bury it over and over until she would be finally happy with the spot.

So with all the digging Lexie had skinned her nose .. we have not given her a new one for a week now to let heal over .. hopefully she will get the hang of it soon.
We have a 12 year old cat who is used to being boss .. the 2 of them had it sorted in the first couple of hours and Lexie respectfully gives him his space.
Although Lexie still cannot resist the attempt at getting him to play .. it is amazing how little it takes for them to work out the standings in the house.
So thank you all for introducing us to your and now our gorgeous girl .. we are very happy and as I said I think (hope) Lexie is too.
I also hope this helps you all to be happy with her placement as I know she had a special place in your heart.

Peppa (Violet)
Hello Everyone from YAPS
I just thought you would like a couple of pictures from our lovely Peppa .. the name we have given her is Violet .. we just thought that it fits her appearance as well as her temperament.
We are so very lucky to have her .. Violet is giving us a lot of joy and I suppose she loves to be with us also .. we are so very happy with her .. she is just beautiful.

Violet loves the garden and the beach and has been introduced to our son's dogs which went really well .. a Big Thank You to everyone for the work you do.

Hi there Yaps Staff
I got my DUKE from YAPS nearly 3 years ago (2008) and still visit your website regularly to see how you are doing.
I cannot express how grateful I am that there are people like you guys in the world - the job you do rehoming all of the animals is simply fantastic!
So just wanted to let you know that there are people out there like me that think of you all often.
I have just been showing my English flatmates your website and telling them about how amazing you all are.
I mean .. look at Ringo now! How cool is it that he has a new family to care for him and for him to love .. Awesome!
Anyway thanks heaps for everything and keep up the good work .. you are truly appreciated by many many many people and even more animals like our Duke!

Tessa
Hey Carol
TESSA is such a lovely natured girl .. she is very playful and cheeky .. Tango and Tessa play together so much and even though Tango is about 11-12 years old .. he seems to have a new lease of life.
Our cat YoYo loves dogs and was best mates with our previous dog Red who we got from YAPS in 1995 but passed away in November 2009 .. so now YoYo has a new best friend and they play together all the time.
Tessa is very smart .. I walk Tessa and Tango in the mornings and Al walks them after work .. if Al is slow to take them for a walk Tessa either grabs Al by the hand or by the jeans and tugs at him to remind him it is walk time.
Tessa is still a bit frightened on our walks by some things and some people but she is getting better .. at home she feels safe even though she does love to go for a walk.

Princess' First Night Home!
Hi there Kerry
PRINCESS is very happy and fitting in perfectly with the White family .. she has already become best mates with Beau and they spent all afternoon running and playing and they are both pooped now.
The kids just think she is fantastic and she is very gentle with them .. Mackenzie gave her some treats this afternoon and shared some of her dinner with Princess.
Mackenzie is really excited to have Princess in her life .. I will send you some pictures of the two of them playing tomorrow.

A big thank you to everyone for all the love and kindness that you have given to Princess and all the other lucky dogs there at Yaps .. you guys do such a great job.

Rusha (Cooper)

Cooper is now called Rusha .. he is settling in with us just fine and seems very happy.
Rusha is a very affectionate boy and even likes to share .. he is enjoying his new surroundings.

Dear Yaps
Just thought I would drop you all a line and let you know how I am doing with my new family ..
I am about 1 year old now and I am very happy here at my home.
I have even made a new friend with the cat .. I am growing bigger everyday and my family now suspect I have some Mastiff/Great Dane in me as I just do not seem to stop growing!
They do not seem to mind because I scared off some prowlers one night so now I simply cannot do any wrong .. but really my bark is worse than my bite.
I really would prefer to cuddle on the couch than bark at strangers .. I love the beach and my owners are happy to take me there a few times a week to play but I do not like the waves.
You can give me a swim in the family pool where the water stays where it is supposed to and I am a happy boy.
