YAPS (Young Animal Protection Society) has just concluded a very successful Fund Raiser to gather finance for expansions and improvements to care for those who cannot speak for themselves .. our animals. The success of the venture is due to the vision and leadership of David Hall and his OVERFLOW TEAM and the creative energies of Fleur Warner of GRUNT MEDIA. We could not have achieved what we have without his drive and philanthropy which has extended into many areas of Far North Queensland life .. he enlisted the aid of many wonderful people .. too numerous to mention. Until we were lucky enough to gain David’s support .. we have had to wage a constant struggle against rising costs and increasing numbers of abandoned neglected or abused animals .. his inspiration has given us a flying start. It is a tribute to the people of the Cairns and Far North Queensland Community .. the businesses and schools that sponsored and supported us and our beloved animals that we were able to raise this wonderful amount of money in tough economic times. I guess we can start with a HUGE THANK YOU!! Ilona was supposed to get a computer for her birthday but decided she did not need it and asked her family to buy something for our animals. They came out to YAPS on Thursday 14th and asked what we needed .. and came back on Sunday 17th January 2010 with heaps and heaps of toys! The Grafton Hotel Bikers Social Club The Grafton Hotel Bikers Social Club held a fundrasier for YAPS at the Grafton Hotel Edmonton South Cairns in North Queensland on Saturday November 7th 2009 .. they rasied $807.00 for Yaps and a great afternoon was had by everyone.
