| YAPS have found that since we have had our website the refuge seems to be non stop .. we have limited paid staff .. and rely heavily on permanent volunteers .. we are now moving our animals more quickly which means ongoing preparation and work .. as we rehome our animals we have more pets to take their place .. some abused .. neglected and suffering .. which means lots of one on one care and YAPS staff are finding it harder and harder to get the everyday jobs done that keep the refuge running smooth and looking good .. just an accumulation of every day chores. |  |
| YAPS are encouraging all kinds of Business .. Building Sites and Clubs to pick a team (any number) of willing volunteers out of their work group to donate 3 to 4 hours of their skills towards YAPS .. the staff have found this such an encouraging day .. to see the business comrades pick up their tools of trade and willingly work along side of them. |

| YAPS need yard maintenance .. minor repairs .. gardening and naturally .. some time to spend with the animals .. if we could get a group at least twice a month it would help us greatly .. be inspired by the groups pictures below that have already given YAPS their few hours on their chosen Community Day. |

Lend Lease Community Group
September 2007
Lend Lease Community Day is an initiative where Lend Lease employees from around the world give a day of their time .. skills and a healthy dose of enthusiasm to support their community .. employees nominate their own project and create small groups to work with the charity on the project they have chosen .. around 10 employees of Delfin Lend Lease and Lend Lease Retail in Cairns Queensland Australia converged on YAPS on to walk dogs .. assist with yard and other maintenance work and create storage solutions .. the YAPS staff and volunteers care for many lost and neglected animals leaving little time to tend to general maintenance work .. so the input from Delfin Lend Lease was fantastic and very much appreciated.
